The Tribo-Corrosion Behavior of Monel 400 Alloy in Marine Environment at Varied Rotational Velocities

چکیده

Monel 400 alloy is widely employed in marine engineering equipment due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and toughness. In this paper, the tribo-corrosion behavior of seawater under different rotational velocities was investigated by a pin-disk tribometer with an integrated electrochemical cell. The results revealed that material loss rate friction coefficient alloy, after mechanical wear tests, increased increasing velocity. Under mechanical-wear conditions, sliding distance extension at higher velocities, then more serious crack nucleation propagation occurred subsurface. when from 0.125 m/s 0.5 m/s, thickness product’s layer reduced 50 nm 30 nm; is, lubrication product became worse. As result, material-loss significantly velocity m/s. Importantly, antagonistic effect, rather than synergistic between wear, has been verified for seawater, mechanism analyzed.

Influence of Temperature on Corrosion Behavior of 2A02 Al Alloy in Marine Atmospheric Environments

The corrosion behavior of 2A02 Al alloy under 4 mg/cm² NaCl deposition at different temperatures (from 30 to 80 °C) has been studied. This corrosion behavior was researched using mass-gain, scanning electron microscopy-SEM, laser scanning confocal microscopy-LSCM, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy-XPS and other techniques. The results showed and revealed that the corrosion was maximal at 60 °C a...
